Website Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit weatherwidgetmagic.com (the “Website”). The Weather Widget Magic iPhone app has its own App Privacy Policy.

In short: the Website has no accounts, no forms and no advertising. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

What we collect

• Technical data. When you load a page, our hosting provider automatically receives your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. These server logs keep the Website working and secure.
• Your cookie choice. When you choose “Necessary only” or “Accept all”, we store that choice in your browser so we don't ask again. See the Cookie Policy.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.

The Website does not ask for your location. The weather radar on the home page is a demo and uses sample data.

Third-party services

To load the Website, your browser connects to the following providers, which receive your IP address as part of the connection:

• Google Fonts (Google LLC) — delivers the fonts used on the Website. Google's privacy policy applies.
• unpkg (content delivery network) — delivers open-source JavaScript libraries the Website needs to run.
• Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd) — only if you accept analytics cookies. It receives pseudonymous usage data: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP (the IP itself is not stored), device and browser. Data is kept for 14 months. See the Cookie Policy.
• Apple App Store — when you follow a “Download” link you leave the Website, and Apple's privacy policy applies.

Why we use your data and on what legal basis

• Running, securing and fixing the Website — our legitimate interest in providing a working, safe site.
• Remembering your cookie choice — needed to comply with privacy law.
• Replying to your messages — our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you ask us to take before a contract.
• Traffic measurement with Google Analytics 4, only if you choose “Accept all” — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the cookie button on the home page.

How long we keep it

• Server logs: for a short period, then deleted, unless we need them to investigate abuse or a security incident.
• Your cookie choice: in your browser until you clear its storage or change your choice.
• Emails: as long as needed to handle your request, and afterwards only where the law requires it.

International transfers

Some providers are located in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can also complain to your data protection authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Your rights (United States)

If you live in California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access it, to correct it and to delete it. In the last 12 months, the Website collected only identifiers (IP address) and internet activity (pages viewed), for the purposes described above.

• We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
• Global Privacy Control. We treat a GPC signal from your browser as a valid opt-out of optional cookies.
• We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Children

The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The Website is served only over HTTPS. We limit who can access server logs and emails to the people who need them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced on the Website.
